City Of Moab Planning Commission Regular Planning Commission Meeting
The meeting focused on the City of Moab Annexation Policy Plan. Staff presented updates to the annexation policy, including a new annexation boundary map and anticipated land use maps for future annexation areas. Discussion centered on the necessity of these measures to establish a formal policy, secure a seat at the table for potential annexation negotiations, and prevent unauthorized city formation in the valley. Staff clarified that this plan is non-binding and acts as an advisory tool for future council decisions, rather than a promise to provide services. Commissioners also discussed the technical aspects of the maps and potential visual confusion regarding zoning colors.
